32.4x26.4x1.4 in ~ Painting, Oil
The scene depicts a successful rehabilitation of an orang-utan in the reserve of Tanjung Putting in Borneo, following a trip I made in 2018. The orang-utan collects fruits directly from the trees rather than from the feeding platforms and this is a sign that the rehab is successful, casting a message of hope and victory over palm oil industry. When you fly over Borneo, you can't miss the palm plantations that are tapping into the natural habitat of orang-utans. On left and right side of the painting, users of palm oil, from cooking to biofuel are vanishing in smoke.
